Baku hosts ICAPP General Assembly

Baku is hosting the 7th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) of over 300 political parties with about 200 delegates from 35 states attending to discuss security, peace and cooperation.

Azerbaijan invested more than $500 million in Russia in 10 years

Azerbaijani investments in the Russian economy are almost double that of investments by Russian companies in Azerbaijan. This was stated by the minister of economic development of Azerbaijan, Shakhin Mustafayev, at a business forum with businessmen from Karachay-Cherkessia. According to him, in last 10 years Azerbaijan has invested $563 million in Russia, while Russian investments in the Azerbaijani economy were only $366 million. Today 261 enterprise with Russian capital are working in Azerbaijan, the minister noted.

Azerbaijan to join International Organization of Vine and Wine

 The Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister, Ismet Abbasov, and the director of the International Vine and Wine organization, Federico Castelucci, have discussed the prospects of cooperation development in the wine and vine sphere at a meeting, a ministry report said on Monday, Trend reports.The minister noted that the country's government has approved the proposal of the Agriculture Ministry to join the International Organization of Vine and Wine and internal procedures are currently being carried out in this direction.

 France supports membership of Azerbaijan to the WTO. “We are interested in accession of the country to this organization as soon as possible,” the Foreign Ministry of France stated, 1news.az reported.The French Foreign Ministry noted that the Azerbaijani economy is going in the right direction, and France is ready to support Baku.

The Swiss government will grant Azerbaijan about $70 million, Swiss Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sabina Ulman-Shaban said signing a deal on technical assistance for modernization of the Azerbaijani capital market, Trend reports.The ambassador expressed hope that the bill on securities would be passed soon and expressed confidence in the positive development of cooperation with Azerbaijan.The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) makes investments in Azerbaijani economy.
